Transportation on the Island?

DRIVING:
The simplest and most convenient way to travel around the island is driving a vehicle.
Six of our villas include the use of a vehicle within the rental price.
For the remaining villas, we can provide suitable cars and mopeds at a competitive price.
If you're not an experienced moped driver, we recommend renting a car due to the island's road conditions.

In the case of Villa Moonstone, Villa Crystal, Villa Emerald and Villa Sapphire, which are all located at Sitara Retreat, a 4 x 4 vehicle is required for the hill; or a moped if you are a competent driver. (A 4 x 4 vehicle is provided as complimentary with these villa rentals).
If you prefer not to drive, taxis can pick you up at the entrance to Sitara Retreat which is a 4-5 min walk down a short steep hill.

Songthaews are trucks with bench seats and a covered area in the back for passengers. They are the most common form of public transport on the island and are cheaper than taxis.
